Day 7 Newsflash (Sep 2)



Today was a little bit of a struggle because Tobias looked uncomfortable, wasn’t as responsive and was showing a lot of storming signs.  

However he had a trick up his sleeve…

Just as Emily was getting ready to leave I asked Tobias to raise his thumb for her.  This is one of the two commands that the nurses and doctors give Tobias.  Either raise your thumb or open your eyes.

I asked him to raise his thumb and his wrist shifted slightly, his fingers twittered briefly and his thumb moved to an undeniable thumbs-up position!



Here are two videos I made after the surprise thumbs-up.  These aren't a good as the initial thumbs-up, but he is definitely moving his thumb on request!

Reflecting a church visit with Tobias

  Feeling Out of Place, Finding Comfort in God Being at church today was bittersweet. As I sat beside Tobias, I couldn’t help but notice the young, healthy people around us—the kind of vibrant individuals Tobias once was. It’s hard not to feel a sense of loss seeing him there, knowing how different things are now. Life has a way of making us feel out of place sometimes, like we’ve been misplaced in the very places we once belonged. But I’m reminded that God has a plan for each of us, even when we can’t see it. His love is constant, and even when life feels like it’s moving us into unfamiliar spaces, He is there, guiding us.
